The
Biggest Ropes Challenge Course in California
There
are various activities involved in the ropes
course. All of these exciting elements
require trust building, effective communication
skills, and mutual support for total success.
High elements of the ropes challenge course rise
up 40 feet above the ground; and low elements
are at ground level. Some challenges may involve
physical activity, while others focus mainly on
problem solving and creative thinking.
The high elements are the ones most remembered
by participants because of the drama and complete
exhilaration that is experienced. High element
activities allow individuals to take personal
risks and overcome fears while co-workers/friends/peers
provide verbal support. Some of the skills acquired
through high element activities include confidence,
mental discipline and self-reliance.
Corporate leaders are drawn to our ropes course
because of its long-term effectiveness in the
workplace. Through the ropes course, the company
has paved the way for executives to learn something
new about themselves. After a day at the Spencer
Escape, all participants can expect to feel a
new and profound sense of confidence. In a matter
of hours, they discover the difference between
what they think they can accomplish and what they
can actually do, both individually and as team
players.
What about the rest of the challenge course?
We have developed an amazing course for you. The
zip line is a 300+ foot cable that is set
on top of a 40-foot tall pole. The pole itself
is on a 100-foot hill.
We've recently
added the equipment specifically designed for
the Los Angeles Police Department S.W.A.T. team.
Test your skills.
You will be towed to the top of the cable (or
at a point that is just right for you) and then
you release the tow rope and zoom down the cable
until the braking system at the other end gently
slows you to a stop. It's all thrill, and no skill!
The rock climbing wall is 20 feet high
and has an auto-belay system for safety. Two climbers
can use the wall at one time. This allows for
a fun race if desired.
Our cargo net climb is 18 feet tall and
is an "up and over" design. It also
utilizes an auto belay system for safety.
"The Beast" is the creation
of John Spencer Ellis. It combines an incline
monkey bar, traversing climbing wall, incline
set of rings, device for rock climbing training,
two rope ladders and a knotted climbing rope.
Making it from one end to the other is extremely
challenging for all ability levels. You may always
just do one or two segments at a time.
The six-foot wall is moderate in difficulty.
You may choose to use the small "helper steps"
and rope if needed.
Other aspects of the challenge
course include a high-step obstacle, a 16' long
monkey bar, three 18' pole climbs, islands in
the sky, a trapeze, an inverted commando crawl
up a rope, three sets of pull-up bars and the
big step ladder.
